**Bangladesh Airplane Crash: Squadron Leader Asim Jawad Killed**
Squadron Leader Asim Jawad has died following injuries sustained in a plane crash in Patenga, Chattogram.
The Bangladesh Air Force’s Yak-130 training aircraft was on a routine training mission when it took off from the Bangladesh Air Force Base Zahurul Haque in Chattogram at 10:25 AM today, Thursday. The crash occurred near the estuary of the Karnaphuli River while the aircraft was returning from the training session.
Following the crash, both pilots, Wing Commander Md. Sohan Hasan Khan and Squadron Leader Muhammad Asim Jawad, ejected using emergency parachutes and landed in the river.
They were rescued by a combined effort of the Air Force, Navy rescue teams, and local fishermen.
Squadron Leader Muhammad Asim Jawad, who was in critical condition, was immediately taken to BNS Patenga for medical treatment, where the attending doctors pronounced him dead.
